Hey everyone, welcome back to our little corner of ether that is the internet. So, it's the full moon in Cancer and, being a Cancer myself, I can't help but feel a deeper connection to this moment. Full moons are all about revealing what’s been brewing under the surface, and that’s kind of what this year has been for me and hopefully for us in this community.
Starting this music selection and curation journey at the beginning of the year, my goal was simple: share the music I love, meet cool people, and maybe build a community along the way. I’m not gonna lie, it’s been a challenge, especially as someone who's more on the introverted side. But hey, we're getting there, right? (Any tips on building community are welcome! 😅) I kicked things off thinking videos were the way to go, but then I stumbled into writing, and guess what? It feels just right. There’s something about putting my thoughts into words that just clicks for me. It’s like I can be myself without the pressure of being watched.
As we wrap up the year, I’ve got some questions for you:
What have you finished up or started that you’re proud of?
What are you ready to leave behind?
How have you grown in your art or personal style this year?
Let's keep riding this wave of growth and self-discovery. Can't wait to share more music and stories wit you all in 2024! In the meantime, enjoy my last song recommendations for the year 2023! :)

"Makeda" by Les Nubians
"Makeda" by Les Nubians, is one of my favorite tracks from the 1990s. This song uniquely intertwines the rich rhythms of Africa with the elegant lyricism of the French language, creating an enchanting musical tapestry. The duo, sisters Hélène and Célia Faussart, bring a contemporary spin to traditional sounds, making the song both a tribute to their African heritage and a fresh, modern creation.

"Quoi" by POiSON GiRL FRiEND
"Quoi" by POiSON GiRL FRiEND is a criminally underrated gem that dives deep into the heart of love's complexities. This track stands out for its raw expression of vulnerability, with lyrics that repeat "Why not take all of me," encapsulating a total surrender to love. The French lyrics add a poetic depth, framing love as both cruel and a duel, a metaphor for its emotional battles. The repetitive plea "Penses-y" echoes a call for reflection on love's profound effects. This song is a masterful portrayal of love's all-encompassing grip, making you feel every bit of its emotional journey.

I'm Not In Love by Kikiwest
"Kikiwest's 'I'm Not In Love' is a track that's both haunting and relatable. It's not your typical love song. Instead, it delves into the complexities and denials that often come with deep feelings. The song's arrangement is minimalist yet impactful, allowing the lyrics and emotive vocals to really stand out. It's the kind of song that gets under your skin, with a refrain that stays with you long after the track ends.
